Course description:
The CICE program at Confederation College is designed for adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges who wish to further their education/vocational training in a community college setting. This personalized, assisted learning program is tailored to fit each student’s academic needs with support in and out of the classroom. Classes include skills for life & work, computers, writing for success, and personal & professional growth. Supervised field placements give students that all-important work experience they need to put on a résumé and demonstrate their talents to potential employers. Upon successful completion of all courses and the field placement requirements, the student will graduate with an Ontario College Certificate in CICE.
✅Course requirements:

Be 19 years or older on the first day of classes

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Certificate (OSSC)

Demonstration of academic needs that require program modification in order to succeed

Copy of most current formal academic assessment

Have the ability to participate in an information session or contact the Program Coordinator and a CICE Program pre-interview.

Have the ability to provide his or her own transportation to and from the college and field placement locations
