Course description:

The CICE program at Fleming College is designed to provide individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges to experience college life and enhance their academic and vocational skills with modified programming and support from Learning Facilitators. The program includes a number of core courses such as human relations and communications, job skills, life skills, computer skills, and health and wellness. Throughout the program, students will participate in work placements intended to develop and enhance skills and provide the opportunity to practice essential employability skills such as time management, strengthen independence and self-confidence, and practice and explore vocational goals. Upon successful completion of all courses and the field placement requirements, the student will graduate with an Ontario College Certificate in CICE.

 

✅Course requirements: 

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older on the first day of class

• Demonstrated academic needs which require curriculum modifications in order to succeed

• Have a level of independence that does not require constant support or supervision

• The ability to manage transportation to the college and to field placements

• The ability to take part in an interview to determine program suitability, area of interest, and personal goals

• Have access to a computer, internet, webcam, and microphone.
