Course description:

The CICE program at Georgian College is designed for students with diverse learning challenges who require academic accommodations and modifications. The course helps students improve academic and vocational knowledge and skills in core and integrated courses. Students will also be able to practice this learning on field placements. The integrated courses are modified to students’ specific strengths and abilities by the learning facilitators. Learning facilitators can also provide accommodations, tutors, and support sessions to ensure the work is challenging and achievable. Students prepare for success in entry-level work and build independence and self-advocacy skills for adult life.

 

Course requirements: 

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)/Certificate (OSSC), OR be at least 19 years of age on the first day of classes

  • Demonstrate academic needs which require curriculum modification, accommodation, and Learning Facilitator support in order to succeed

  • Demonstrate a level of independence that does not require constant supervision
