Course description:
The CICE program at Humber College is designed to provide adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities the opportunity to experience college life, develop their independence, and connect with like-minded individuals. This program was the first college program of its kind in Ontario, and focuses on building collaborative, inclusive communities that promote transformative learning. The program will also help to build confidence and self-advocacy skills through positive role-modeling and highlighting the unique value of each individual. Some elective program areas at Humber College include Culinary, Photography, Spa Management, Hospitality, Travel/Tourism, Journalism, Landscape Technician, Business, and more. Moreover, beginning in semester 2, students will have a chance to gain work experience by participating in an on-campus work placement.
✅Course requirements:

Have a documented developmental/intellectual disability

Be 19 years or older on the first day of classes (day after Labour Day which is the first Monday in September)

Be able to participate in an admissions interview to determine program suitability, interest and personal goals

Submit all required documentation prior to the date stated in the admission package

Demonstrate a willingness to participate fully in the program
