Course description:

The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) in Mohawk College is a fully integrated two-year College Certification program. This is a modified program designed for individuals with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and other related learning challenges. The program provides students with an opportunity to experience all aspects of student life and to improve their academic, social, and work skills. Students will learn in an inclusive, person-centered environment with individualized support and build on leadership skills and learn self-advocacy skills. There will be participation in integrated courses in other program areas through core courses and academic experience courses. At the end, graduates will receive an Ontario College Certificate.

 

Course requirements: 

  • Be 19 years or older on the first day of classes

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) OR Certificate (OSSC)

  • Proof of disability and need for modified curriculum (ODSP assessment, OR Psycho-educational assessment or a Doctor’s note with an IEP)

  • Ability to attend college independently

  • Ability to participate in an intake interview process
