Course description:
The CICE program at Niagara College is designed for adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries or other significant learning challenges who wish to further their education/vocational training in a community college setting. Students will have the opportunity to complete an individualized CICE program of study including courses from an area of concentration selected from Niagara College’s program offerings. Course work will provide the students with opportunities to o experience college life and enhance their employability, academic and social skills. CICE students are offered support, such as curriculum modification, note-taking, tutoring, and other related academic services as needed. Upon successful completion of all courses and the field placement requirements, the student will graduate with an Ontario College Certificate in CICE.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) OR Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC), Certificate of Accomplishment or equivalent, OR Mature Student Status

Have academic needs that require curriculum modification in order to succeed;

Have a level of independence which does not require constant supervision;

Participation in an interview to articulate personal goals and determine suitability

Have the ability to provide his or her own transportation to and from the college and field placement locations

Students who have graduated from any college program are not eligible for the CICE program
